i don't understand some of the things on these lists. why the arbitrary number seven? why are the petronas towers "forgotten," but the empire state building is not? what's so great about the harbor of rio de janeiro?
yup, seems a bit arbitrary. what's "modern" and who has "forgotten" it?
some private company held a vote as to what the seven wonders of the modern world were, and the "forgotten" ones are the ones that just didn't get voted in, but are still considered wonders... i believe.. so empire state building was voted as a wonder of the modern world (built post- a certain arbitrary date that they set) and petronas towers were not voted, so considered "forgotten"
